In 1986 Rhosyn a Rhith (Coming Up Roses) was the first Welsh language film selected for Cannes Film Festival, screening in Un Certain Regard section. This special anniversary screening brings the film back to the cinema, followed by a Q&A with the films director, Stephen Bayly, Producer, Linda James, and hosted by one of Wales’ most renowned filmmakers, Marc Evans.
In the wake of the miners strikes a local cinema in the South Wales Valleys struggles to keep the doors open. Finding themselves out of work, the former projectionist teams up with the ice-cream sales woman to devise an ingenious plan to make money.
