“DORIS WISHMAN’S CULT CLASSIC!”

BAR TRASH celebrates its 3rd sensational year with WE ARE TRASH!, a fan-made mixtape of cult and chaotic cinema, based entirely on audience suggestions from our review cards.

Launch night begins with Token Homo unveiling the full WE ARE TRASH! event lineup (33 films, 3 venues, 3 months!). Then, special guest co-host Molly Miles (CATEGORY H) will introduce Doris Wishman’s cult serving of cinematic mayhem, A NIGHT TO DISMEMBER (1983).

Doris Wishman (1912-2002) was one of exploitation cinema's ultimate outlaws. Carving space in an industry dominated by toxic masculinity, Wishman channeled some of its depraved desires to release more than 30 nudity and sexploitation films across 4 pioneering decades.

“A NIGHT TO DISMEMBER is Doris Wishman’s only horror film, one whose troubled production history resulted in a dreamlike fragmented narrative. Don’t worry too much about what’s going on in the plot, instead look out for 80s porn star Samantha Fox (no, not that one…) in a starring role, plenty of B-Roll and bloody murders. Unable to be seen for many years, we couldn’t be prouder to bring the film once dubbed ‘cinematic junk’ to BAR TRASH.” (Molly Miles)

Molly Miles (they/them) is a programmer specialising in the weirdest sides of horror. They are one half of late night horror club CATEGORY H, and can be found on Instagram as @categoryhfilms and @taxidermybreakfast.

Polite notice: We are projecting A NIGHT TO DISMEMBER without subtitles from the best available digital source (which isn’t saying much…). The film contains scenes of extreme violence and gore, and makes very little sense…

/// BAR TRASH is a celebration of cult and curious cinema, hosted by queer film fanatic Token Homo and friends. Films are served with themed drinks, introductions, intermissions, prize giveaways, and subtitles / captions where possible. Tickets from £3.50. Adults 18+ only. Follow @tokenhomo on Instagram for updates. More info at tokenhomo.com ///
