Despite the challenges of living under military occupation, they set out to build a community from scratch – planting the seeds for what, nearly a decade later, would lead to Palestine’s first Olympic skateboarder.

EXIST follows Palestinian skateboarder, Aram Sabbah, in the weeks leading up to the Olympic qualifiers in Dubai. Leaving his war-torn homeland, Aram isn’t chasing medals, he’s carrying the mantle for Palestine with a drive to send a message – Palestine exists beyond media headlines and nameless statistics. Through skateboarding, Aram defines the forces that seek to silence and erase his people, offering instead resilience and a quiet resistance built on presence, passion and hope.

Cult film night BAR TRASH continues with its 11th sensational season — SYNTHETIC FLESH! — a tribute to more than 100 years of monster makeup FX.

The centre-piece of this season, we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (1925) with a new live improvised score by queer cabaret performer and promoter, Maxim Melton. Maxim returns to BAR TRASH after blowing us away with their haunting live score for another Lon Chaney masterpiece THE UNKNOWN (1927) on the occasion of our third birthday with Loose Willis.

Lon Chaney (1883-1930) was not just an accomplished vaudeville performer and silent screen actor, he had the ability to totally transform himself through stage makeup and physical distortion, earning him the nickname, ‘The Man of a Thousand Faces’. As Quasimodo, the bell ringer of Notre Dame Cathedral, and Erik, the "phantom" of the Paris Opera House, Lon Chaney created two of the most memorably ‘monstrous’ characters in film history.

Lloyd Kaufman’s THE TOXIC AVENGER (1984) stands with PINK FLAMINGOS and THE EVIL DEAD as one of the most gleefully offensive "midnight movies" of the twentieth century.

The film established Troma Entertainment’s warped modus operandi, but few people in 1984 would have imagined this “silly, sleazy, and graphically violent” (TV Guide) origin story would have launched a global franchise of sequels (3), a TV series (TOXIC CRUSADERS), a computer game (on the NES, Game Boy and Sega Mega Drive), and even a stage musical. Take this opportunity to revisit Lloyd Kaufman’s outrageous original as the splendid 2023 remake mops up at the box office.

Featured special makeup effects artist: Jennifer Aspinall is a two-time Emmy Award winner (for PAM & TOMMY and MADTV) and serial nominee for TV work including SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE and WALK THE PRANK. Derek Vineyard is paroled after serving 3 years in prison for killing two African-American men. Through his brother, Danny Vineyard's narration, we learn that before going to prison, Derek was a skinhead and the leader of a violent white supremacist gang that committed acts of racial crime throughout L.A. and his actions greatly influenced Danny. “Fragments of Home” unites two intimate Palestinian films that explore the meaning of home, memory and motherhood amid displacement and conflict. Through the eyes of mothers and children, we see how memory can be both refuge and burden, how the camera becomes a vessel for grief and for hope. These works invite us to reflect on what remains when the walls of home are no longer steady - what fragments of tenderness and resistance we carry with us wherever we go.

While the Israeli army retaliates against the Second Intifada in the West Bank in the early 2000s, a mother films her family's daily life, punctuated by time spent shielding her family from harm in the basement. A Palestinian mother-to-be in the Netherlands grapples with emotional and physical challenges during pregnancy. Through personal reflections,she confronts pain, uncertainty, fear of bodily changes, and an identity crisis, all while challenging societal norms around motherhood. EMPORIUM PRO WRESTLING RETURNS FOR HOLIDAY HAVE AT IT!

LONDON’S WILDEST NIGHT OUT IS BACK AND BRINGING THEIR REGULAR SCHEDULE OF MADNESS, CHAOS AND DEBAUCHERY DURING THE FESTIVE PERIOD.

The city’s most chaotic obsession is decking the halls and the opponents because Emporium Pro Wrestling is back for Show 3, and this time it’s a holiday special bursting with tinsel, tantrums, and top-rope turmoil!

After body-slamming the East End into festive submission twice over, Emporium returns to Genesis Cinema for another night of cinematic carnage, over-the-top drama, and monsters in the ring ready to unwrap some serious punishment.

Expect snowstorms of suplexes, grudges colder than December air, and title fights so intense they’ll roast your chestnuts. Featuring some of the UK’s wildest wrestling stars, shocking twists, and enough holiday chaos to make Santa tap out.

This isn’t your nan’s Christmas panto….this is wrestling with bells on.

Emporium: The Afters takes over Genesis Cinema’s private bar once again, transforming it into a club night of pure carnage. Wrestlers swap the ring for the dancefloor, spinning late-night anthems and tearing it up 'til 2AM.

Costumes. Characters. Kayfabe. It’s still very real to us, and it doesn’t stop ‘til the lights come on.

Live show. Full rave. Total mayhem, and it’s all FREE with your ticket.

's alt-rock masterpieces Monster (1994) and New Adventures in Hi-Fi (1996). In this sublime comedy teetering between reality and illusion, Buster Keaton stars as a film projectionist who dreams of becoming a detective. He uses his limited skills when he is framed by a rival for stealing his girlfriend’s father’s pocket watch.
