The final battle. Each winner of our monthly poetry slam has the chance to compete for the title of the Genesis Poetry Slam Champion 2025!

We have a trophy, we have some incredible poets, we have no idea what’s going to happen next.

The Genesis Poetry Slam is London’s only three-round poetry slam. The night is friendly, fresh, and the BARGAIN price of £1!

This is the grand final and best of the best for this year. There will be laughter, there might be tears, there will definitely be rhymes and rhythms. Our house crew will also be doing some short sets of their very best poetry, for your delectation.

Join us on Thursday 11th of December, upstairs at the Genesis Cinema in Whitechapel for your monthly dose of friendly competitive poetry slamming! Whether you come to share your words or just to soak them in, we’ve got a warm, welcoming crowd and electric performances every time!

Tickets are just £1 each. We often sell out so grab your ticket ahead of time! If you book a ticket but then can't make it, please contact Genesis Cinema and let them know.

Other than that: just grab a cocktail, a hot dog and a comfy sofa and watch poets bring their A-game and battle it out for your entertainment.

POETS:
This is the one month where you can’t sign up to perform, sorry. The way to qualify is by winning a slam on a previous month. The process starts again in 2026.
